Brand new Wrestling post is up. This time I talk about the up coming Wrestlemania 30 and why the events of this weeks Raw are getting me a little more excited once again. Just click on the A Top The Turnbuckle page to check out. Also don't forget to leave me a couple of comments.
Coming along nicely
So in case you haven't noticed my site has been lacking in structure and completion. The main reason for this is because I have been too busy to actually sit down and start really building it up, not too mention I can be really lazy. But I'm happy to say I've started adding more construction to the site, very slowly and steadily. I have created separate pages for all the topics I'm going to cover, as well as being able to set them as proper blog entries, so people can leave comments as they wish. Other than that it has just been the odd tweak here and there as I slowly head towards finishing a complete site that looks good and that I'm proud of. But until then I will still be writing and posting, hopefully a lot more than I have, so just watch this space.
A Tribute To Harold Ramis
It's been a while since I last posted a blog but after hearing this such saddening news I felt I had to post a quick entry on my thoughts. In case you aren't aware, yesterday saw the passing of a true legend in the world of comedy, the one and only Harold Ramis. A simple Chicago born man, Ramis went on to become a legend in the film industry, writing, directing and starring in some of Hollywood's greatest comedy movies of all time. When you look back at the list of films he was involved in, you get a great sense of the impact this man left. From his very fist film debut on Stripes, Ramis immediately showed he had what it took to create such original and hilarious comedy, which lead him to go on to some of the most recognized and famous comedies of all time such as Groundhog Day, Anaylse This, National Lampoon's Vacation and of course one of the greatest comedy movies of all time Ghostbusters.
When I think of Ramis and the impact he left, one of the biggest things that can't be ignored is the fact he took such interesting concepts and made them not only funny but pulled them off so well, when other people would of failed miserably. When it came to Stripes, he took such a bold and serious topic of soliders training and going to war and managed to show a funny a side to it whilst still carrying a serious message. Along with Aykroyd, they took such a bat shit crazy idea as Ghostbusters, 4 men carrying what resemble DIY vacuum cleaners going around New York catching bizarre spirits who in the end have to fight a giant monster made out of marshmallow and evil spirit trying to bring about the end of the world, and created what is still to this day regarded as one of the greatest comedy movies of all time. And with Groundhog Day he took a great idea of a man who has to relive the same day over and over again and explored all the different outcomes of what would happen if someone had all this time of not getting old and was stuck in this small town, and all the paces it could take you, showing what you would do to better yourself, whilst again packing it full of laughs.
Ramis had also worked with some of the greatest actors and writers of all time. Look at his collaborations with people and you will notice it is a great who's who of actors and comedians, including the late great John Candy, Robert De Niro, Billy Cystal and Chevy Chase. Not too mention Dan Aykroyd and Bill Muarry two people he worked with on many different occasions creating pure comedic gold, something that should not be underestimated, as without these 3 working together the world would certainly be a lot fewer on laughs. Despite not being as active in recent years he has still managed to but in a few appearances, appearing briefly alongside, Seth Rogen in Knocked Up, John C. Reilly in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and not too mention finding time to write, direct and co-produce the film Year One, starring Jack Black and Michael Cera. Not too mention his work has gone on to influence many other filmmakers of today such as Jay Roach, Jake Kasdan, Adam Sandler, and Peter and Bobby Farrelly, all of whom have cited his films as among their favorites.
My final thoughts are that the world has once again lost a true genius and genuinely funny man, who made the entire world laugh with such bizarre and genius concepts, who always thought outside of the box and tried to deliver something new every time he put pen to page or got behind the camera and in front of it for that matter. I will always remember him for his role as Dr. Egon Spengler in the Ghostbusters movies, the brilliant brains of the group who delivered some of the films most iconic and most quoted lines, with that deadpan voice and who was clueless to everything that wasn't supernatural or scientific. To leave off now I will quote my brother in saying "may he rest in the the containment unit in the sky".

What the hell wwe!!!!!!
Welcome to the start of my adventure into the blogging world and sadly my first entry isn't going to be on a very positive note. I've been thinking long and hard about what I wanted this first post to be about and then a couple of things came up all at once about one of my greatest passions and I just had to start with it. Wrestling has been something that I have followed since of the age of 5 and it's something I hold very dear to my heart and no matter what I've stuck by it. But recently, wrestling's biggest company WWE has had me scratching my head confused and screaming at the screen in sheer anger at the directions they are going lately and huge mistakes they keep making. Most of which have happened in great succession of one another, with some of the biggest occurring in just this past week alone. Which is why I'm writing this to vent some frustration and add my opinion into what is going on with this bat shit crazy company.
Batista Returning and Winning the Rumble
Batista returning was meant to be a huge thing, mainly from the point of view off WWE and their team. But it so far hasn't gone the way they were hoping. The man has been continually booed since reappearing just over a week ago, despite WWE wanting him to be a top draw for the company once again after a four year absence and his victory at the rumble has really pissed off the WWE universe, me included. Now I'm not saying I'm not a fan of Batista because flash back about 6 years ago, he was the biggest star the company had, next to John Cena, and with not much other choice seen as how I was never a big Cena fan, Batista would be the guy I would route for. Whats annoyed me about him coming back is they have done nearly everything wrong for bringing him back into the picture. For starters, they were hyping his return a good month or two before he was due to come back, in my book that isn't the best way to bring a returning superstar back. When it's someone who was once a big star with the company, who has been gone for a long time it should always be left as a surprise. If they wanted to put him over, they should of made him a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble with no hype or mention of him returning, that way it would of had a big impact and given the fans a huge surprise, then it wouldn't of caused such a backlash when he did win. By having him show up a week before and cutting a promo saying he was going to win the Rumble, it just took all thrill out of it, with little to no excitement to give the fans. I do think Batista returning is a good thing, but I really don't want to see him in the title picture, especially when the universe is already screaming for who they want to see as the face of the company (more on that in a sec). I think he would of been a good draw if they had him in a good rivalry with someone like Brock Lesnar, allowing to create a good billing for Wrestlemania 30, which is what should be important. But having him in the main event slot, especially having only been back a little over a week, is juts sheer stupidity and a waste for creating an epic main event at Wrestlemania, especially with it reaching 30, it should be a main event thats a real seller and show stealer. But with Batista in the picture I just can't see it happening. And lets not forget how this man left the company in the first place.

The YESmovement
When you look at a guy like Daniel Bryan you don't see him as your typical wrestler stereotype. He is short, isn't completly ripped with bursting muscles and has a huge beard (which is kickass by the way). Yet I have never seen a star win over such support and such a huge reaction in over 10 years. When he hits that stage, the entire crowd explodes with such a huge reaction its almost deafening with there screams of "YES! YES! YES!" and he is easily the biggest star the company has on its roster today. Then why is he getting so screwed over by the company who could be making major money off this star? For several months now Daniel Bryan has been constantly pushed aside by WWE despite his popularity getting bigger each and everyday. Right now he is pretty much the face of the company and should be holding its tip prize. Yet time and time again WWE keep placing other people in his way that we don't want to see. From what I can gather they seem to think that Bryan isn't there guy and isn't what is "good for business". Hello?! Earth to WWE?! Are they even listening to what is going on with your universe?! Bryan is the guy you NEED right now. Sure he doesn't fit that 8x10 look you have been going with for the last 50 years but that is a good thing. He is a skilled in ring technician, he has created one of the most simple and best loved chants since Steve Austins "What?" chant and has proven time and time again he is the man of the moment. Everyone was biting their nails with anticipation for him to make his entrance in this years Rumble match and when it came down to the last entrant who did we get? Rey "Ow! My Knees!" Mysterio, which then prompted a shit storm of booing from every fan in that arena and those watching at home. Even Hall of Famer Mick Foley tweeted saying it was "disgusting" that they didn't put him in. If that doesn't wake you up WWE then I don't know what will. Right now you need to pushing Bryan as far as you can and give the fans exactly what they want to see and right now I think we all agree we want him in the title picture for Wrestlemania. For the love of god, please start doing the right thing and listen to your fans. With Bryan entering the Elimination Chamber for a shot at the title in little under a month there is a still a chance we could finally see Bryan clutching the gold he deserves, but I really wouldn't hold your breath.

CM Punk Quits
This one is a very recent development and one that greatly upsets me as a fan. It was announced that following the Royal Rumble that CM Punk had quit the company. This is just one thing that has greatly pissed me towards the company even more. It has been well documented that CM Punk has had a very turbluent relationship with the company since day one and despite him becoming one of the biggest stars the comapny had thanks to his now famous "Pipe Bomb" speech and his unbelievable talent, it seems the company were still against this guy. I was a Punk follower since his debut with the company, when he appeared on their massively failed ECW reboot, and his success story is one of the best wrestling world has seen in years. He has constantly fought against people who thought he would never be top dog in the wrestling world and that he didn't have that look. But through his unique wrestling ability and his unbelievable talking skills on a microphone he has become a huge phenomenon in the wrestling world with an army of followers and supporters all across the world. It's not clear as to why he quit at the time of writing this but there has been a lot of speculation. Many say he has been looking tired of late and still recovering from injuries and that the company was pushing him really hard despite giving him no payoffs. So far WWE have given no word about this on their site or anything, which could mean this could be leading to some sort of storyline, although it has been reported they deleted him off twitter, so who knows. If it is true I hope CM Punk won't be gone for long or at least will appear for a promotion who will use him right and not waste his talents like WWE did. If this doesn't wake WWE I don't know what will. The fact top talent are just leaving the door at any point should make them realize what they could lose here. I've got so much more to say on this matter but I think I will leave it for another time until things develop a bit more, till then I leave you with one of his greatest moments.

There is so much more I could vent about right now but those 3 were the main things I wanted to talk about so the rest I will leave for another time. Wrestlemania is fast approaching and so far the only two good things WWe has done this year are the up coming launch of the WWE Network and finally placing Jake "The Snake" Roberts in to its Hall of Fame on the night before Mania. There is still a little time left and I'm hoping WWE really pulls some big U turns and starts giving the fans what they want, rather than what WWE thinks they want.
